My First Low Tuned Guitar Riff

How many hours per day do you play your guitar? Usually, I play from one hour up to eight. It doesn’t mean that I’m doing eight hours a day different guitar exercises, it just depends from the work I have to do at the studio. But at the end of the day when I become tired and bored I begin to do lots of different experiments with my guitar – and you know, it helps me to get relaxed!

Tuning the guitar in a different way gives me new feelings, something like I’ve got a totally new instrument in my hands and as the result, it brings new ideas for my songs, solos and improvisations. It really works like a new wave of inspiration when you feel that there is no free space in your head for something new and your creative mind is empty!

And now let’s get closer to the riff. As you already know, in order to learn it you will have to tune your guitar in a different way.

- First string = C

- Second string = G

- Third string = E bemol

- Fourth string = B bemol

- Fifth string = F

- Sixth string = C

As you see, you will have to drop every string two tones lower. Maybe there is nothing new, but believe me that it sounds great! I can say that the style of this riff is pure trash metal and it has four parts. At the tab-image every part will have a different color, so that you could see the difference between them. The difference is not in the notes, but in the way you will play it! Good luck!
